За Microsoft Outlook:
Open Outlook 2003. If the Outlook 2003 Startup page doesn't open, do the following:
- On the Tools menu, click E-Mail Accounts.
- On the E-Mail Accounts page, under E-mail, click Add an e-mail account, and then click Next to go to step 2.
- If the Outlook 2003 Startup page opens when you start Outlook:
- Click Next on the first page of the wizard.
- On the Account Configuration page, click Next again.
- On the Server Type page, select IMAP or POP3, and then click Next. Consider using IMAP because it supports more features.
- Provide the following information on the Internet E-mail Settings page:
Under User Information: - In the Your Name box, enter the name you want users to see when you send e-mail from this account.
- In the E-mail Address box, enter your e-mail address.
- Under Server Information:
- If you're using IMAP, enter your IMAP server name in the Incoming mail server (IMAP) box. If you're using POP, enter your POP server name in the Incoming mail server (POP3) box. If you access your e-mail account online using the outlook.com Web site, enter outlook.com for the POP or IMAP server name.
- In the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) box, enter the SMTP server name. If you access your e-mail account online using the outlook.com Web site, you can find the SMTP server name by signing in to your e-mail account at the following address: http://outlook.com. After you sign in successfully, click the drop-down arrow next to the Help question mark, and then click About. The SMTP server name you need to enter is listed on the About page under External SMTP setting. For example, if the About page shows the following, your SMTP server name is pod51005.outlook.com.
External SMTP setting:
Server name: pod51005.outlook.com
Port: 587
Encryption method: TLS - Under Logon Information:
- In the User Name box, enter your e-mail address.
- In the Password box, enter your password. If you want Outlook to remember your password, make sure the check box next to Remember password is selected.
Note: Don't select Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA).
- At the lower-right side of the page, click More Settings, and then fill in the Internet E-Mail Settings dialog box as follows:
- On the General tab, under Mail account, type the name you want to use for this e-mail account.
- On the Outgoing Server tab, select My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Make sure Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected.
- On the Advanced tab:
- Under Incoming server (IMAP), or Incoming server (POP3), select the This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) check box.
- Under Outgoing server (SMTP), select the This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) check box, and then click OK.
- If you're using POP3 and you want to keep a copy of your messages on the server, under Delivery, click Leave a copy of messages on the server. If you don't select this option, all messages will be removed from the server and stored locally on your computer.
- On the Internet E-mail Settings (IMAP) page, click Next.
- On the Congratulations page, click Finish.
- If you're using IMAP4, a message appears that asks you if you want to download folders for the mail server you added. Click Yes. Use the Outlook 2003 user interface to select which folders to synchronize between the server and your local computer, and then click OK.
За Mozilla Thunderbird:
- Open Mozilla Thunderbird. The Account Wizard will run the first time that you open Thunderbird. If the Internet Connection Wizard does not run when you first open Thunderbird, do the following:
- On the Tools menu, click Account Settings.
- On the Account Settings page, click Add Account.
- In the Account Wizard, on the New Account Setup page, select Email account, and then click Next or Continue.
- On the Identity page, in the Your Name box, enter the name that you want to appear in the "From" field of your outgoing messages and then, in the Email Address box, enter your e-mail address.
- On the Server Information page, select POP or IMAP, and then click Next or Continue. You might want to use IMAP4 because it supports more features.
- In the Incoming Server and Outgoing Server boxes, enter the appropriate server names, and then click Next or Continue.
- POP3 server This is the server name you enter when you set up a POP3 client to connect to your e-mail account. The POP3 server name you enter if you access your e-mail account online using the outlook.com Web site is outlook.com.
- IMAP4 server This is the server name you enter when you set up an IMAP4 client to connect to your e-mail account. The IMAP4 server name you enter if you access your e-mail account online using the outlook.com Web site is outlook.com.
- SMTP server This is the SMTP server name you need to enter when you set up either a POP3 or an IMAP4 client to connect to your e-mail account. If you access your e-mail account online using the outlook.com Web site, you can find the SMTP server name by signing in at the following address: http://outlook.com. After you sign in successfully, click the drop-down arrow next to the Help question mark, and then click About. The SMTP server name you need to enter is listed on the About page under External SMTP setting. For example, if the About page shows the following, your SMTP server name is pod51005.outlook.com.
External SMTP setting:
Server name: pod51005.outlook.com
Port: 587
Encryption method: TLS
- On the User Names page, enter your e-mail address in the Incoming User Name and Outgoing User Name boxes, and then click Next or Continue.
- On the Account Name page, enter the name you want to use to refer to this e-mail account, and then click Next or Continue.
- On the Congratulations page, review your configurations, and then click Finish or Done to exit the wizard.

- Set up Thunderbird to use SSL or TLS, do the following:

| If the Account Settings page doesn't open automatically, in Thunderbird, on the Tools menu, click Account Settings. |
- In the navigation pane of Account Settings, select Outgoing Server (SMTP). On the Outgoing Server (SMTP) Settings page, select the SMTP server, and then click Edit.
- Under Security and Authentication, under Use secure connection, make sure that TLS, if available is selected, and then click OK.
- In the navigation pane of Account Settings, under your e-mail account configuration, select Server Settings.
- On the Server Settings page, under Security Settings, select SSL, and then click OK.
- In the Mail Server Password Required message box, type your password. If you want Thunderbird to remember your password, click Use Password Manager to Remember this password. If you're using IMAP, click OK. If you're using POP, go to the next step.
- If you're using POP3, under Server Settings, it's a good idea to select Leave messages on the server. This keeps a copy of the messages you retrieve to your local computer on the server. This also lets you access your messages from a different mail application.
What else do I need to know?
- If you don't know whether to use POP3 or IMAP4, consider using IMAP4 because it supports more features.
- If you access your e-mail account online using the outlook.com Web site, you'll need the Windows Live ID that your administrator gave you and your password.
